These opaque underglazes are perfect for detailed painting, sgraffito decoration, watercolor effects, free brush painting, screen printing, and mishima decoration. They are designed to perform in a wide firing range from Cone 05 to 6, and have even been successfully fired up to Cone 10.
Create Depth & Character
Speedball Underglazes allow you to create designs and patterns that will shine through the glaze, adding depth and character to your pieces. While commonly used under clear glazes, they can also enhance the effect of other light-colored transparent glazes.
In the Studio
These underglazes can be applied to both greenware and bisqueware, and their colors will remain stable and vibrant during firing. For optimal results, apply 3 generous coats and pair with Speedball Earthenware or Stoneware Clear Glaze. All colors are lead-free, dinnerware safe, and carry the AP Seal.
