USA-Manufactured Lead-Free Glazes
Our glazes, made by expert potters in the USA, are lead-free, non-toxic, and food safe (when properly fired and tested).
Mid-Fire Glazes
Our mid-fire glazes offer a similar color range to our low-fire counterparts but introduce unique effects and tonality when fired at cone 5 or 6 in a pottery kiln. Settling of glazes is natural and can be remedied by thorough mixing.
Proper Application
Ensure your ceramic glazes are fully mixed before application. We recommend mixing for at least 1-2 minutes to achieve a smooth application. Pottery glazes must be fired in a pottery kiln at the correct temperature; do not use a kitchen oven.
Temperature and Kiln Calibration
Ceramic glazes are classified into three temperature groups: low-fire, mid-fire, and high-fire. Over-firing or under-firing can result in damaged pieces or ugly outcomes. Your ceramic kiln must be temperature-calibrated to ensure it is firing at the target temperature or cone.
Glaze Reactivity
Glazes react differently based on several factors, including: - Firing Temperature: Even small changes in temperature can lead to varied outcomes. - Clay Body: The same glaze may appear different on a darker or lighter clay. - Firing Speed: The rate at which the kiln reaches the target temperature influences results. - Kiln Atmosphere: Oxygen levels during firing affect the glaze's appearance.
Application Methods
Glazes can be applied by dipping or brushing. Our glazes are ready to apply with a brush. For dipping, we recommend using a dispersing agent like Darvan.

Clear Glaze
Our clear glaze is zinc-free and works well over underglaze decorations and decals. For best results, fire to cone 6.
